| As we fast approach the holiday season, I hope you are enjoying the fall and its beautiful colors.
We received good news on our JSList Bag contract. Our production numbers were increased from 3,500 per month to 4,000. Instead of only a five (5) month Delivery Order we have also received an additional ten (10) month Delivery Order which will take us into the year 2012. The increase in quantity and length of contract time are welcome news. We are currently waiting for a new order for the Flight Deck Jerseys; this order will reflect an increase in pricing of $.20 per shirt. We are also waiting for the contract to start our new project- Extreme Cold Weather Clothing System (ECWCS), a fleece undergarment. The target date to start this new project is June 2011. We have also just received a new order for Flyer’s Kit Bags. Another new project, the Navy Seal’s Swimmer’s Trunks has still not been awarded. Our cost for producing this product has been submitted and we are waiting for word on who will produce the Swimmer’s Trunks. |
We are looking forward to our upcoming fundraising event, a “Night at the Races” which is scheduled for Saturday, October 23, 2010. This event will be held at St. Bruno’s Church Hall. Our committee has been working hard planning this event and so far the response is very positive. If you would like to attend and have not received information on this event, please contact Barbara Italiano at 724-837-1250.
The Work Activity Center (WAC) Department continues to grow. The shredding program is going well. We are currently looking to purchase another van to help with our transportation needs. We will be applying to the D.O.T. for a Section 5310 grant, and if approved, the state will pay 80% of the van cost and we will be responsible for the remaining 20% of the cost.
Our Agency is very proud of being “ISO 9001 Certified”; we are maintaining our ISO requirements. We are constantly refining our procedures and making adjustments as needed. A special “Thank You” to all the staff and especially to Dawn

Dominick for all the hard work in achieving this recognition.
Our Prevention of Blindness (POB) pre-school vision screening team is busy with Fall Vision Screenings. The team visits Day Care Centers and Child Learning Centers screening pre-Kindergarten students for any visual problems that may need to be addressed by their family’s eye doctor before the child enters school. The team is using a new screening kit which is a huge improvement over the old one.
If you have not visited our website recently, please take a moment to do so. Don Rose has done a wonderful job improving and updating it. It is a vast improvement over our old site. Check it out at www.wcbainpa.org.
Improvements to our building are constantly being done. A few of our current projects include: replacing block and installing hand rails to aid our employees and visitors with mobility. We are currently working with gas and electric brokers checking on alternative prices. We need to secure a cheaper cost for these services before the rates skyrocket.
